Civil 3D provides many customization features to streamline production of Record Asbuilt drawings from Construction Drawings.  Since the Sewer, Water, and Storm databases are intact within Civil 3D drawings (as well as the profiles, profile views, and labels,) copies of the source drawings and sheets can be saved to a separate location and edited as needed.  By reusing all the project information which was so painstakingly assembled for the construction drawings, we can reap additional benefits in reducing the overall cost of producing Asbuilt Record drawings.  Also, processing field data can be speeded up for display style and accuracy of tables and labels.  The following are some examples for discussion.

1. Cleanouts, water meters, fire hydrants, water valves, etc.
   1. Import points from file
      1. Automatic insertion into groups, layer,
      2. Automatic point labels which only require grip edit to draw out the leader
      3. Automatic generation of Sewer or Water Apurtenances table
   2. Custom Asbuilt table style has been created
   3. Custom point style has been created
   4. Custom point label style has been created
2. Plan view pipe and structure labels
   1. Asbuilt custom labels have been created
   2. To change the label type,
      1. Select one label
      2. Right click, select similar
      3. Right click, select Label Properties
      4. Choose under label type
      5. All labels (either structure or pipe plan) are updated to the new style
3. Manhole table
   1. Custom Asbuilt Manhole table will use data from pipe network
   2. Edit northing and easting by grip move to field inserted point
   3. Edit invert data right in the structure properties and let the tables update automatically
4. Pipe Table
   1. Custom Asbuilt Pipe table  will use data from pipe network
   2. Edit invert data right in the pipe properties dialog box and let the tables update automatically
5. Pipe Crossings Labels
   1. Pipe crossing labels can be edited to replace ‘Proposed’ with ‘Existing’
6. Sanitary Sewer Profiles
   1. By editing structure and pipe properties according to asbuilt data, the profiles,structure labels, and pipe labels will update automatically
