Autodesk Civil 3D Tips and Techniques

1. Our detail drawings are organized and archived in several different styles and systems. 
2. It would be good if we could establish a method to standardize our use of standard details as well as keeping them up to date. 
3. Here are some points for discussion.
   1. All details should be at the same scale (preferably 1"=1') and be inserted into paper space.
   2. All details should use standard layer names and styles throughout so inserting them does not add layers to the detail dwg
   3. All details should be organized in a standard fashion
      1.  for easy selection and insertion
         1. Design Center export blocks to tool palette
         2. Content Library export to tool palette
         3. Standard tool palette collection on network
      2.  For unequivocal updating to be sure there are no obsolete details in the system
   4. There should be an established procedure to create new/update existing/and delete Obsolete details along with a mass communication method so no-one feels left out in the dark.
