The Sheet Set Manager provides central control of all CAD operations for a project. When properly set up, it streamlines creation and organization of new sheets as well as updating existing sheets as the project evolves. After several projects have been completed, detail sheets from those projects can become immediately adapted to any similar new project because the Sheet Set Manager controls formatted Project and sheet data in the title block.

Start New Project Wizard
- From Sheet set manager
From Sheet set manager
- Click on Sheet Set Title window
- Select New Sheet Set
- Select Example Sheet Set/Next
- Select CDC Example Sheetset (S:\ACAD\Civil3D template\CDC EXAMPLE SHEETSET.dst)
- Name the new sheet set the name of the project
- Browse to the project folder to establish the sheet set location. (S:/ACAD/ (Project Number)
- Click on Sheet Set Properties
- Fill in data fields for Sheet Set name, project name and number, etc.
- Click in Sheet Storage Location box and browse to the dwg folder in the project/ click Open
- Fill in all project data for client name and address, etc.
- Fill in default sheet data for Drawn By, and date
- Click on OK
- Click on Next and Finish
Sheet List Tab Operations
- Create New Sheet
- Right Click where you want the sheet in the lineup list
- Select New Sheet
- Enter name and number of the sheet and detail out the filename
- Select OK
- Import Existing Layout into Sheet Set
- Right Click where you want the sheet in the lineup list
- Select Import Layout as Sheet
- Select Browse for Drawings
- Highlight filename
- Select Open
- Check layout names you wish to import
- Select Import Checked
- Rearrange Sheet Sequence
- Left Click on a Sheet Name
- Drag and drop to its new location
- Rename and Renumber Sheets
- Right click on a Sheet Name
- Select Rename and Renumber
- Type the new number and Sheet Name in their spaces
- Select Next (or Previous)
- Repeat steps 3 and 4
- Note: Keyboard shortcut allows you to perform speed renumbering
- Type the new number
- Press Enter
- Type the next number
- Repeat 2-3
- Open Sheet
- Right click on the Sheet Name
- Select Open
- Insert Sheet List Table on Cover Sheet
- Open Cover Sheet
- Set Paper Space and Note Layer current
- Right click on Sheet Set Title
- Select Insert Sheet List Table
- Select Table Style Name CDC Civil
- Select OK
- Click to place
- Update Sheet List Table Data
- Highlight Sheet List Table on Cover Sheet
- Right click
- Select Update Sheet List Data Links
- Qsave
Model Views Tab Operations
- Add New Location (x-ref , working folder, details folder, other project folder)
- Right Click on Add New Location
- Select Add New Location
- Browse to the folder
- Select Open
- Open Drawing
- Right click on drawing name
- Select Open
- Open Named View
- Expand Drawing name
- Right Click on the named view
- Select Open
- Place Named View on Sheet
- Set Paper Space and no-plot layer current
- In Sheet Set Manager/Model Views tab
- Expand Drawing name
- Right Click on the named view
- Select Place on Sheet
- Optional: Right click and select viewport scale
- Snap upper left corner
- Highlight viewport
- Right click
- Select Display Locked
- Select Yes
