TABLES
 

Civil 3D provides powerful table creation and editing tools for drawings.  The look and feel is much like working with Excel. Uses can be as simple as a setback data array or as complex as the sheet list table.

  • Table Properties allows Toggle to repeat headers in table breaks

Operations

  1. Create Table
    1. Select Insert Table Icon on the Draw toolbar
    2. Select a preset table style
    3. Toggle Insertion Option
      1. Start from empty table
      2. Or From Data Link
      3. Or From Object data in the drawing
    4. Toggle insertion behavior
      1. Specify insertion point
      2. Or Specify Window
    5. Select options for column and row settings according to 4 above.
    6. Set cell styles for the top two rows and all other rows beneath
    7. Select Ok
    8. Click to place your table on the current layer.
  2. Enter text into cell
    1. Click on a cell
    2. Begin typing
  3. Merge cells
    1. Click the lower left cell
    2. Hold down Shift while Clicking the upper right cell
    3. Select Merge Cells icon
  4. Unmerge Cells
    1. Heed the warning that all data will be lost except for the lower left cell
    2. Click in the merged cell area
    3. Select unmerge cells icon
  5. Add Rows/Columns
    1. Select several rows/columns, as many as you wish to add
    2. Click on Icon
      1. Either add rows/columns above/right
      2. Or add rows/columns below/left
  6. Remove Rows/Columns
    1. Select several rows/columns, as many as you wish to remove
    2. Click on Icon delete rows/columns
  7. Change border
    1. Select a group of cells
      1. Click in the bottom right cell (of your selection)
      2. Hold Shift and click in top left cell (of your selection)
    2. Select Border editor icon
    3. Select Border style in Border dialog box
    4. Sequence edits to produce your desired results
